The South Carolina Lowcountry is one of our favorite places. This part of the country, which encompasses seaside communities like Edisto Beach, Sullivan's Island, Folly Beach and Kiawah Island, offers a retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

It's also an area full of rich culture and design inspiration. Today, we're taking you on a little tour of a home that embodies lowcountry living and style located in Palmetto Bluff along the May River.

As you step inside the home, you feel the freshness of the neutral color palette and open floor plan. Reclaimed heart pine floors, along with the beautiful floral Shannon Plourde painting, give a nod to the natural environment surrounding the home .

The open kitchen, with its crisp white cabinets and coffered ceiling, provides a casual airiness. The large island with absolute black honed granite countertops encourages gatherings in the kitchen and is perfect for entertaining.

Off of the kitchen is a beautiful dining room that features an antique French buffet, reclaimed wood dining table, and an antique rug that adds a sense of history and culture to the home.

Beautiful tall mahogany French doors provide easy access to the outdoor screened porch.

The neutral color palette continues into the master bedroom where there's also easy access to the outdoor living spaces. The shiplap walls play to the home's coastal surroundings and add beautiful texture to the space.

The home's master bathroom, with its subtle blue and green coastal colors, are reminiscent of nearby coastal waters and bring the coastal feel indoors. The color also provides a soothing backdrop to a space meant to be relaxing and inviting.

But what really takes center stage in this coastal home is the wraparound porch - complete with outdoor eating area and plenty of room to sit, relax, and enjoy the home's beautiful lush surroundings.
