The holidays are synonymous with entertaining. Whether it's with your co-workers, friends or family, your calendar will soon be filled with holiday parties and your home filled with guests. There are those that are the no-frills entertainers, who value the company more than anything else. And there are others who love to go all out, creating a fabulous menu and unique cocktails and fill their homes with holiday decor. Whatever category you fall into, it's important to create a tablescape that fits the feel and mood for your gathering.

Whether you are going for casual or fancy, there are some simple things you can do to create a fabulous holiday tablescape. Simple touches that will leave your guests impressed. We've rounded up several holiday tablescapes along with some tips to get you inspired to create the holiday table that's right for you.

For simple and cost-effective table decor, dress up a few clear vases or bowls with a variety of holiday ornaments. Be sure that the ornaments' color palette fits in with the rest of the items on your table {e.g. plates, napkins, glassware, etc.}.

Candlesticks and some simple greenery can make a big impact. You can also dress up your candles and candlesticks using glitter snowflakes or with an elegant ribbon.

Along with the table centerpiece{s}, it's important to also consider decor for each placesetting. Your placesetting decor should feel cohesive with the rest of your table. If going for a wintry, rustic theme, a painted pinecone with a simple sprig of greenery would look beautiful. This particular pinecone was also embellished with small pearl beads which adds an additional layer of sophistication.

Your holiday centerpiece could be just one stand-alone piece like this miniature tree. Display some of your favorite ornaments and place the tree in a gorgeous pewter bowl topped with moss. This type of centerpiece makes a huge statement and is an effective way to add color to your table. Incorporate some of the ornament colors in the tree into other elements of your table like glassware to create a cohesive look.

Fresh flowers and plants are another lovely addition to your holiday table. Paperwhites are a staple winter bulb and their simplicity can be breathtaking. Arrange them in creative ways on your table to create a centerpiece for a more simplistic and neutral option.

Mixing some candlesticks, garland and a bowl of ornaments is another simple way to create a beautiful centerpiece. Use the same ornaments in your centerpiece to decorate each place setting to add a holiday touch for your guests.
